I am Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University. I have obtained my education in political science and international relations, nationalism studies, Jewish studies, and modern history at both Central European University and Charles University.

I am heading the VITRI research center, and I also participate in a fascinating research project about how traumatic historical events shape contemporary foreign policy.

I have been a recipient of numerous fellowships and grants, including a Marie Curie Fellowship, a Charles H. Revson Foundation Fellowship from the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, a Felix Posen Fellowship from the Vidal Sassoon International Center for the Study of Anti-Semitism, an Israel Government Scholarship, a Gisela Fleischmann Scholarship from the Milan Simecka Foundation, and more recently, a Junior Core Fellowship.

I have held research fellowships at the Slovak Academy of Sciences, Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf, the US Holocaust Memorial Museum, Tel Aviv University, and the Institute for Advanced Studies, Central European University.

I have done my share of service. I was a member of the faculty Academic Senate for two terms and have also been the co-chair of the Holocaust Division in the Association for Jewish Studies.

I currently serve on the Executive Committee of the European Consortium for Political Research and chair the Jean Blondel PhD Prize as part of my duties.
